Waukegan – Vista Medical Center East has regained its status as a Level II trauma center. This is vital as it means residents can once again obtain emergency care here in our community.
The Illinois Department of Public Health had removed this designation on February 5th. Work was done to restore the full abilities of the hospital and today the IDPH has reinstated the Level II designation.
“As part of the group who worked at the government level to restore Vista’s range of services, I am glad the hospital can again provide this level of patient care. It is vital for our community.” said Mayfield. “I will continue to monitor their progress, ensure they are providing the highest quality care and remain transparent.”
